A dead simple job, but a lifesaver for the client.
We have been working with this small but thriving food-and-drinks venue for some time, helping them improve their admin and back office, making technology improvements, and so on. We noticed one small, but hugely inconvenient, problem: a single phone line meant that takeaway orders were competing with the credit card reader for bandwidth; using the phone meant the payment machine went down, and vice versa. A major inconvenience on a busy night.
Our solution was super simple: an ethernet cable from the modem to the card machine freed the line up for calls. An easy fix for a long-term problem which has now vanished. All for the cost of a simple cord!
